• Kitson has struggled at Stoke since £5.5m move
• Gordon Strachan: 'I've been a fan for a few years now'
Middlesbrough have signed the Stoke City striker Dave Kitson on a two-month loan deal.
The 29-year-old has scored just two goals in 25 Premier League games for the Potters since a £5.5million move from Reading â€" where he returned on loan last season â€" in the summer of 2008.
He is the second striker to join on loan since the arrival of manager Gordon Strachan following the capture of Marcus Bent from Birmingham.
Strachan told the club's website: "I'm delighted Dave is coming in to bolster the squad's numbers and give us more options. I've been a fan of Dave's for a few years now. He is a good striker and another player for us to call on."
Kitson, who could make his debut in the Championship game against Nottingham Forest at the Riverside on Saturday, said: "I'm happy to be here and excited to be part of it. I'll do my best and hopefully that will be enough to keep the club in the top positions."
