Team will spend big if the right players are available, says Yu. Alex McLeish watched two Marseille forwards last week
Birmingham City's vice-chairman, Sammy Yu, has promised to bring in up to five players during the January transfer window as the club's manager, Alex McLeish, steps up his search for a striker.
McLeish watched Marseille's Brandão and Mamadou Niang during last week's Champions League encounter with Milan. Birmingham's new owner, Carson Yeung, has pledged to back McLeish to the tune of £20m-40m next month and Yu said City would not flinch if a big-name player became available.
